I stand in the hallway in front of my room in the Housing Quarters, my mind racing with thousands of thoughts. I couldn’t hold them all in, fearing that my brain would burst at any moment. Grabbing my tattered notebook from just inside my room, I press my back against the cold wall of the hallway and slide down, my feet stretching out in front of me. The pages are worn just like the people passing through the halls. Scribbled notes paint the pages, statistics, quotes, shitty drawings. My fingers scrape through to a new page and in a swift motion, I scrawl the date in the top right corner.
“I’m still here,” My pen moves across the page, emptying my thoughts onto the blank canvas.
